L.A. was fun as all get out
I went to L.A. for a little week long vacation, where I thought I'd get a lot of work done on my dissertation. Not so much... but I did work some and I had such a wonderful time! I went to a club in Hollywood, and an after party in Belair! I went to a UCLA professor's house party in BEAUTIFUL topanga canyon and met some wonderful faculty from there. I went biking down the boardwalk for a wicked long while, bought a leather bracelet as my souvenir! See? FUN!
Most importantly, I got to hang with my best friend, Raquel and spend some time with her. We had a really good time together. I am realizing that we are what we think we are, because we create that for ourselves. We have to create consciously!! All of us!
Anywho, it was really really fun. I could easily live there.

We finally chose a date and a venue for our nuptuals. Jake Bishop and I will be married in Nassau, Bahamas on March 4, 2009. We are going to be on a cruise (!!!!) with our friends and family.
I'm sooooooo excited and happy to have found the love of my life. It's going to be wonderful being married to my best friend!

Today, while the blossoms still cling to the vine...
Well, I'm almost perfectly content with my new website. It keeps the hot side hot and the cool side cool, so to speak. Or, at least, it makes it easier to look at either my scholarship or my music, but not get mired in both. So I'm pleased.
I am not so pleased with that bitch in the lunchroom. One of the cleaning ladies who has decided to be mean to me ever since I went downstairs in socks. I'm like "calm down, homie. it's not that big of a deal."
Anywho, so besides wanting desperately for Obama to be president, I am laying out some goals:
1. Finish my Ph.D.
2. Write & publish a novel
3. Do a yoga certification
4. Win a Grammy
5. Get a nice academic job
6. Have kids
7. Whoops! This one first! Get married to Jake
8.Work in Japan
9. Live in Brazil
10. Spend some time in Paris
11. Write a children's novel
12. Get really good at tennis
Okay, that's enough for now.
I am excited to add Tony Marvici to Love Child. He is tremendously talented and amazingly professional. And he's the most handsome man on earth, at least to me.
Okay. Gotta go. Work. Ugh. Remind me to never have a real job again, please.

My new website
I've been working on updating my website for a couple of weeks now, so if you're reading this, it means it worked! HOoray! I like this one much better than the old one. I seem to get obsessed with things like this. I began to feel like the old one just wouldn't do! Anywho, I am planning on using this space as a journal of sorts, to clear my head, explore my ideas, etc. If you feel so inspired, write back & respond to me. I'd love to hear what you are thinking too!

Working with an amazing singer- KRISHNAR
I have been doing some back up work for a vocalist named Krishnar. He is nothing short of amazing! I am so excited at the prospect of working with him, because I truly feel like an apprentice to his craft. They say "when the student is ready, the teacher will appear." I feel that God placed Krishnar in my life to teach me new things about singing, music, the industry, and what it takes to really make it. It's such an honor to work with him. I feel very blessed.

So I have met the most wonderful human being on earth and am so happy I thank God every day. Go figure! I feel so blessed to have found someone to care for, and I hope he stays in my life forever and a day.
It's springtime and my life feels heart-shaped and pink!

The show at Joe's Pub was AWESOME. The audience was really receptive and it was HOT as HELL on that cold winter's night! Big up to Ray a.k.a. "Boogie" for giving us a chance. We can't wait to heat up that stage again. Love is Love is a great party with hot djs- check it out any Sunday at Joe's Pub.
